What I am getting at is should we wait and hold of until the new batch of battery arrive at the end of the month In the hope they are in some way redesigned ??

They won’t be redesigned.

They could make changes in the next gen products. If they offered redesigned batteries for <iPhone 7 now they’d face more lawsuits.
