Battery Stats

When looking at the battery stats standby time is obviously the amount of time the phone is sitting idle? Now what does the usage time mean? Is that the amount of time the phone has actually been used with the screen on?

The usage time means the amount of time you have been using, even with screen turned off (i.e if an app requires running in the background, or you have a notification, etc.)
