I have an iPad Pro 12.9 and running OS 9.3.2 and I see nothing like the posts online that explain this?

The battery status of both your Apple Pencil and the iPad itself is visible in your notification area, although you'll have to add the widget to it first. It's similar to how the Apple Watch battery status shows on the connected iPhone.

All I see is the Bluetooth Symbol in the upper right of the screen and the iPad Battery life indicator next to it. How do I add this "widget"?
