Apple has released Battery Update 1.3, which addresses battery performance issues with the 15-inch MacBook Pro. The updater will check to see if a battery needs to be updated on startup, wake from sleep, and when a battery is inserted if the power adapter is plugged in.

Also released today is Security Update for QuickTime 7.2 for Windows. According to Apple's supplemental security documentation, the update corrects a condition where viewing a maliciously crafted QTL file may have led to arbitrary code execution.

Interesting, my battery capacity grew !
before the maximum capacity was 5494 mAh, now it is 5600 mAh. I think it wont mean the battery will actually last longer, they just reset some values.

Hmm. Is it a coincidence that in the past few days my battery's health had taken a nosedive, and having applied this update the capacity has shot up by 2000mAh?

I'm happy :) , but come clean Apple - what did you do to mess it up in the first place?

My battery life bombed after the last firmware update (15" 2.33) so hopefully this resolves something that got out of whack.

Sweet!

My battery capacity dropped to 50% almost overnight about 2 weeks ago and after this update it is back up to 81%. Too bad I just bought a Fastmac replacement. Oh well, that one can sit on the shelf for a while yet.

My battery capacity and charge have increased a fair bit since this update. I'll have to calibrate it to see if the true charge is being reported.

This update lowered my battery capacity by 240 mAh as well. I had 91% battery capacity, now i'm down to 90%.

its beutiful when my "Current Battery Capacity" is greater than my "Original Battery Capacity" gotta love that :)

My battery was terrible for the last few months, so I just walked into an Apple dealer said my comp is about 11 months old and I think my battery is messed, they took it in the back and just gave me a new one. The new batter is awesome, hopefully this update makes it even better.

1219 mAh to 5597 mAh

My MBP is just 4 mo old, and I had also noticed battery life nosedive in the past couple of weeks. This update ran and according to CoconutBattery, my capacity jumped from 1219 mAh to 5597 mAh.

Real world experience to follow. I suspect they accidentally screwed things up a bit with the last OS X update.

my battery capacity shot up as well. I was hovering at about 88% battery health (4888mAh), and afte the update, it went back up to 100% (5527mAh). Looks good! :D

I wonder if apple just either stunts the battery at the start, or is just faking the extra power now so that it looks like they are giving up more and getting some PR
