Apple's site says it 'improves performance". Anyone know any more than that? :) Like how much longer do we get out of the battery or anything?

I imagine it will take a few days for all of the reports to come in, but I have seen approx. 200 mAh gain in Coconut Battery since installing it (and without any discharge cycle in between). With 25 cycles, I was down to 95% health; I have returned to 100%+

I know that the capacity has increased, but so has my idle temps. A full 5-6 degrees C hotter than before the update.

Thats really good...this is why its great to have a computer made by a manufacturer that only makes a few products, the upgrades are outstanding and far beyond what you would get from Toshiba, Dell etc. :)

Immediately after a restart, my capacity increased by 2%, 5480-5589 or about 5 extra minutes.

well I installed the update and to my surprise my Health actually went down from 92% to 88%. Then when I went to check the version of the updater, it does not show me the version, niether do any of the folders I try the apple+i combination and niether of them show me the version... now this has me worried.

That update is for the 15" MBP. It says nothing about the 17" MBP in that link.

Yeah, I think the overall size of the 17" is bigger. I'm no expert, but I was about to download that update and noticed it said it was for the 15" MBP.

What I'm hoping for (beyond the snappiness of Safari) is for a more consistent reading of capacity. In the last 2 weeks, I've ranged between 75% health and (now) 100% health. While I don't use my battery daily, I'm certainly using more cycles than the minimum Apple recommended monthly battery cycle. This, I imagine, will take a few more weeks to determine with any certainty.

Great update. Battery went up to 5582 and back up to 99%. But I don't notice anything snappy about Safari
