So, I can't figure out why even my my ip6 is asleep, my battery usage continues to climb, which in turn makes my battery go down. I've contacted apple and after doing reset settings, hard reset, restore as new nothing has worked. This is driving me crazy! Not sure what else to do..

Have you looked under General > Usage > Battery to see what is draining it?

safari, home and lock screen but that don't matter bc if all apps are closed how does the usage continue going up??

Using any widgets in notification center or have background app refresh running on any of your apps?

ESPN score center in Notification Center but background refresh is off

but what data is being pushed to my phone? backround refresh is off. email is set to fetch every hour so that can't be it bc every time i check my phone usage keeps going up so its basically all day.. thanks for any help.

definitely an app imo.

easiest way to find out which it is:

charge your phone to 100% before you sleep

dont touch it, unplug it

and wake up in the morning and see which app has drained your battery.

seems simple to me.

Background refresh off does not mean no background activity.

Background refresh is a very specific use case. And as others have mentioned, notifications may do refresh-like activities. In addition to possibly turn on the display to show notification, update badge, play a sound. Throw in possible GPS activity, calendar & reminders waking to check/handle possible events, weak/bad cellular network causing more power consumption to "boost the signal", "suggested apps" turned on.

Thread with some decent explanations:

@nobomac. While what you say in regards to background refresh may be true. Then my usage should not go up when I exit my apps through multitasking. And even after doing that usage continue to go up with nothing running. Might be a faulty device.. Good cellular reception as well.

I have a feeling the problem is with some app you have installed. Try uninstalling ALL apps which will leave only Apple preinstalled ones. If the battery drain is still there you may have a problem. If not, one of your apps is causing the drain.
