I am making sure that I have a 100% battery life.
Then I check in settings>battery>Battery usage and see that I have so many minutes on Usage and so many minutes on Standby and get a reading. Then when I check back a couple of hours later all I see for both setting is - -

Is anbody else seeing this?

Am I doing something wrong or is there another setting that I need to activate?

I have done hard reset and charged battery to 100% but then this continues to occur.

iPhone7 Plus 32Mbs.

Thanks

If you see - - it means your device has been restated since last charge. Whether it be a soft, hard or respring. Once the device turns off, the usage stats clear.

Thanks for that.

The restarts must then happen in the background as I Have not manually done any restarts at all.

Probably just system wide respring. Do you use TouchID? Have you ever noticed that it requires you to enter your passcode? If so. That was because of a respring.

Once again thanks for that info.
Yes use touchid all of the time but have not had to add my pass code for quite sometime.

This will also happen during the day, so this morning came to work and saw the - - so recharged battery and everything is working okay, but later this afternoon when I have a look again there will be no times just the - -.

Lately, to get to Battery Usage, I have been hard pressing the settings icon and then selecting Battery from the popup options.

Do you think that maybe that could be causing the issue????

No, I use the 3D Touch action all the time. It has something to do with your device respringing. Maybe I am mistaking, but I thought a respring required you to enter your passcode. Maybe that was just iOS 9 and before and iOS 10 doesn't have that requirement anymore. But it definitely sounds like your phone is just crashing. Its most likely iOS related.

You could try reset all settings. It will preserve all data but you will just have to reconfigure the phone. If the issue continues, then a restore might be needed. I'm on 10.0.3 and have not experienced a single respring since getting the device over a month ago. At this point, we don't know if I am the rule or the exception, but there are a lot of people that experience these resprings and a lot that don't.

Thanks for that advice and taking the time to respond..:)

I am not afraid to do a complete renewal as fully understand the ramifications of using beta software.

I had just not seen this being mentioned before on the forums.

I will leave off doing it today and just see what, if anything happens in the next 24 hours.

Is it usual that resprings happen on the over night period as that seems to be when it happens most?????

Of course!
I wouldn't say its usual or unusual. Overnight hours gives the device plenty of time to respring. Its not touched for several hours so its possible it has something in the background that just causes it to crash. But overall, it seems to be pretty random.

I was getting a respring about once a day on 10.0.2 but since updating to 10.0.3, I haven't had any resprings.

My phone did freeze up twice within 10 minutes this morning though. The screen was unresponsive and the power and home buttons did not work. Not sure if this is related to 10.0.3, but it never happened before.

This is now becoming a real issue for me.
Just after I posted my last post a charged my battery to 100%
After a short period I checked battery usage and it showed 2minutes and 10 minutes respectively.
I had it sitting on me desk, I did not touch it after I had done that.
It was not connected or even turned on.
After about 45 minutes I looked at the battery usage again and it was back to - -.

Is this only happening to me or have other iPhone 7 Plus users noticed the same thing.

I am on ios10 PB5.

and help would be appreciated.

Have you ever caught it in the middle of a respring? Mine does it randomly when I use the camera mostly, the screen turns black and the little loading wheel shows up before showing the lock screen again.

No I have never seen that are all.

Thanks for the response.

I just go to check the stats and find the - -

Today it was just sitting on my desk and I think I would have seen the respring but in fact didn't see a thing.

I have made my mind up that I am not going to obsess over this and just wait until the next beta or GM comes out.

That is really annoying, I was hoping there would be no more respring issues in 10.1 but why is it still happening in the 5th version of the beta!?? :(

I haven't seen it yet on 10.0.3 so I'm happy right now.

Have just checked diagnostics and found that I have had 6 springboards today alone.

That is a pain

Thanks, is there anything in particular I am looking for
As you scroll through the list of 'things' that have happened it should be self explanatory.

It is also in this area that you can select to send that Diagnostic data to Apple or should there be a software issue to the developer of that software.

it should tell you Springboard ot give the apps name. Just tap on one of the files and you will glean a lot of information, such as the time it happened etc.
