As for battery life I saw a nice comparison on ArsTechnica reviews:

Kind of strange to see the 5s beating the 6, I mean I get it has a bigger screen with more pixels but that is what the bigger batter / more efficient A8 / more efficient screen was for 😕

What is "10/8" percent?

To answer your question, I just used mine for a little over 9 hours before I got the 20% message. Usage was streaming music and podcasts and some Safari use.

Probably means 10% to 8%, since he said it was a rough number and doesn't have the percentage shown in the screenshot.
