Sounds really stupid but no battery % at the top is really a bummer for me. I will get over it but it is something I have used since my first iphone. I probably should be more worried about a home button being gone but I will really miss that % at the top.

I wonder if you can switch it to show the percentage instead of the battery icon without having to go to control center...I agree, I don't like that but it's definitely NOT a deal breaker.

haha, I don't focus on it, the quick glance is nice. IOS 11 has destroyed my battery life though so recently I have looked at it more often.

It shows up when you swipe down for the control center though, right?

I wonder if they could adapt the Apple Watch battery indicator to the X. Seems to be a perfect fit, the % inside the circle.

I’ll miss the % too but having just the battery showing will be a more minimalistic look which is kind of what they are going for here with the X

I usually have the battery % turned on with my 7+ and I noticed something... If you go into Low Power Mode it will show the %, even if % is turned off. I wonder if this works the same on the X.

I would be surprised if the option to see the % on the home screen wasn't available in the menu options.
Don't see any logical reason why that would be removed.

I like that idea.

Is there no way to turn it on in the battery settings?
Not sure. One of the videos, Techradar maybe, said you could not have it anymore.

The icon is still there. Good enough to give you an idea where your battery is at. % is kind of useless data because battery doesn't drain at a constant rate. So the fact you might be at 50% at noon doesn't mean you'll be good until midnight.

You should try hiding the battery percent on your current phone, I find I worry a lot less about my battery life if I don't see it going down while I'm using it.
I never ever would have agreed with this before this summer. I don't remember who told me to do that at the time but I took their advice.. and yes I 100% agree I don't find myself looking at the battery life like a hawk anymore.

yeah, I know but it is just different. Just something to adjust to. I like change overall but didn't even really think about this being something I would have to adjust to.

The whole phone is an adjustment. Same can be said for Touch ID.

Yeah I'll miss my battery percentage. Like someone said before, I hope they later on give you an option of replacing the battery icon with percentage number.
