I did a restore from my old iPhone 5 back when I got my XR. Maybe it got carried over from there somehow?

I have an iphone 6s, 8 and ipad pro 10.5, even a Sony bluetooth speaker and there's no way to show that battery widget on ios 12.1...

What do you use Your iPhone for most often?

Number one use is for checking battery level.

Yeah it sounds stupid but it is part of the Apple "ecosystem" experience with their lame batteries, many of us do that.
