Hi all,

I am in between of waiting or getting a new MBP as my current one ( Early 2011) will be leaving me soon. I am also in between of mixture of ideas of 13 or 15 but going towards 15 and change my computer life a bit after 10 years of dealing with smaller screen macs.

The question is I want to buy the base 15 and sometimes play the Battlefield 1. I have seen the videos but I an curious what you guys been thinking ?

Thanks

If i were you i would get the base model and get one of the consoles either the Ps4 Pro or the Xbox Scorpio.
I take it that you are thinking of playing online since its BF1 that you ask about, and it would probaly be a better experience playing on the consoles than through Bootcamp on a MacBook Pro.

I was debating on that for a long time and its nice to see that someone is also in the same page with me.

If the upgrade to a 460 Radeon GPU is cheaper in the US than here in Norway were i live maybe its ok to choose the MacBook Pro for gaming.
But other than that consoles are a better gaming platform.

When bumped from 450 to 460 price increases like crazy where you can actually buy an Xbox One S with that price jump.

I am going to pass on that MBP totally and stay with my old mule and get an Xbox One S and wait for Scorpio.

Just get the Xbox One or PS4 for gaming, unless there is a specific Mac exclusive game you want to play.

With the PS4 you could also use Remote Play, and use your MBP as a screen. A really great feature for those times when the TV in the living room is occupied. If it wasn't for the Forza Motorsport series I would have switched from the Xbox One to the PS4 a long time ago, just for this feature alone.
