That exactly what I have and I play 2142 in bootcamp and it runs amazing. Better than my desktop ran it... So I would assume 2 would be just as amazing.

maybe it is only me, but i experienced a lot of random crashing with the demo version. It seemed to crash everytime i started a game or changed a setting somewhere. It will usually play after a few restarts :-\. In terms of performance, it works pretty well, tho not as great as I would have wanted it to. It is certainly usable, but not as smooth as, say MOH spearhead.

i have the battlefield 2 demo installed on my santa rosa macbook pro 2.2 with 128vram, and it runs great. no problems at all. gaming in boot camp beats gaming in os x hands down.

i also played the battlefield 2142 demo on my machine and got the same awesome results. you should have no worries playing these games.

BF2142 runs just fine under Windows XP SP2 on my 15" 2.4GHz SR MBP. I've got it at native resolution and all the video settings cranked up to maximum (except anti-aliasing, which seems to cause periodic blue screens). I just hope that I can get the Mac version when its released for free instead of having to buy it again since I already bought the PC version...that would suck.

Why would even think you'd get it for free?

Without a doubt. No one ever gives away anything for free.

But just run your pc version in xp, its probably the only way you'll get great performance (I do).
I'm sure if I got the Mac version I'd be tempted away from doing work, whereas rebooting would be too much of a hassle. Always have to look at the bright side. ;)

do you guys play these games directly on your MBP or do you have an external display hooked up?

I just play mine on the MBP's screen, the resolution is high enough that I'm not worried about running out of screen space. Of course I've never gotten accustomed to a larger sized screen so I can't really relate the difference.

If you are strictly speaking about games already out like 2142, you'll be happy with the performance, and that will stay the same. Now, for a game like Crysis, we'll have to see how that runs.
