Battlefield 2142 v1.5 Update for mac?

I just wanted to know whether anyone could tell me if the 1.5 update for BF is available for Mac? I could not find it and since it is out I can't really play BF anymore. If it is not released jet (as usual since ea produces mainly for Windows) is there a date set allready?

Haven't seen it yet either, and it's a major kick in the teeth yet again for mac users.
 
There was a post from someone at EA on one of their forums to the effect that, yes, 1.50 would be released for the Mac at the same time or within a few weeks of the PC version. Given it didn't come out at the same time, I guess we're looking at mid-June.

Can't wait to play the two new maps!:)

"The Dice team is currently finalizing the 1.5 Battlefield 2142 update for Mac users. More information will be posted on the Battlefield Portal site when the update is finalized.

You should still be able to play BF2142 even though you don't have the upgrade yet. You just can play on the servers that host the new maps. Even with that said, I''m still able to play at least a dozen or more servers with various titan and assault games.

I too can't wait for the upgrade. Just got new USB headphones, and looking to expand my gaming experience.

Last time I checked, I was down to about 8 servers, and none of the ones I always play on and have buddies on.

Off topic I know, but as BF fans are reading this... is it really worth betting 2142 mac version? I've heard it runs slower than the PC version, if this is true, whats the benefit in buying it (as its more expensive) over just using bootcamp. Can it really just be avoiding a very quick reboot?
I'm a big BF fan, loved the series since CE, and have 2142 PC version (only recently changed main pc to a mac), so should I re-invest and get the mac version?
What was the reason you spent more money on the mac version than on the pc one.

The reason is I never boot into windows. Never.
 
I personally just don't want to have windows on my Imac. As a matter of fact I bought a much more expensive mac to not have windows. I don't want to have 40 programms which open themselves automatically and the horrible Vista handling. I bought BF 2142 for mac for this reasons. But if you need windows for work or other reasons just stick to the PC version.
I never noticed BF to run slower on mac but I guess it really depends on which mac you own (don't try playing with a Ibook 13" :)

i know this is starting to get a little off topic but i was wandering what i needed to do to install patch 1.4.
 
Is there any chance that the 1.50 update is going to be released soon? How many more weeks do we have to wait? :mad:

We pay more for their software and then Mac users get second-class treatment from these companies.
 
@Dan.Dare: you are absolutely right..... All they have done so far is to publish a post that they are working on the mac patch, like 10 days ago. They haven't even set a date! I am really disapointet in Ea and I will think twice when buying one of their games

You'd think that in 2008, it would be feasible to develop and release the Mac and Windows update simultaneously.

Macsoft games rock on Mac, EA games has been nothing but trouble. I doubt I buy any more of their games.
 
EA lost my money unless this new patch comes soon/updates the game enough that it plays better.

I was always interested but the complaints turned me off

I think they are just doing a survey to find out just how much patience us mac user have.... and whether or not this would make us switch to PC's. To this I say "NEVER! You can take my Mac when you can pry it from my dead cold fingers!" So get off your ass and release the update.

Me neither! I won't switch to a PC over a game.
