Mac gaming community, I would like to bring your attention to Battlefield Heroes. A new free Battlefield game made by Dice and EA. The game has not yet been released, but it will come out this summer. A lot of what they are doing with this game is listening to the community. If the community wants more maps, features, game modes, etc. Dice will be listening.

Battlefield Heroes is a free shooter with very very low specifications. The Mac Mini probably could run it easily. According to this Joystiq hands-on article they state that "They "would love to," he says, but will need to wait and see how the Windows release is received first." referring to bringing the game to OS X.

As the Mac gaming community, we should let Dice know we want them to bring the game to OS X. I am unsure of the best way to do this tho. I'm thinking simply sending them an email letting them know there is a good amount of people out there wanting this game on the Mac.

You know the story, those Mac games EA promised for the summer don't arrive until the next year well unfortunately with Battlefield Heroes, EA won't make any promises. And since they aren't even continuing to support existing titles such as 'Command and Conquer 3' by not porting the expansion ' Kane's Wrath', don't expect them to allow DICE to expand the appeal of this wonderful game.

    Emails Sent

I just sent my emails to DICE. I really love the Battlefield Franchise. I also love the browser-based gaming movement. I think we should use the powers of Twitter & Facebook to round up all mac gamers and send EA some emails.

Battlefield Heroes - MacBook Pro 2009 on Firefox?

Do you know if the 2009 MacBook Pro will be able to run Battlefield Heroes through Mozilla Firefox? Firefox is one of the two PC alternative browsers that will run the game.

Side question: What do the MacBook Pro's at this time run: PowerPC or and Intel Processor?
