When I updated the latest iOS 10 Beta last night, the BBC iPlayer app will no longer open, and constantly crashes.

The BBC web site says no updates will be available to fix the iPlayer to play on iOS 10, and are advised to,downgrade to iOS 9.

Oh yes, so it does. It crashed on PB1, worked fine on PB2, and now seems to struggle with PB3. Maybe it'll be better in the next PB.

You probably know this already OP but, just in case. You can use the website for streaming (though not downloading) in the meantime.

Following a move to the US and a reset of my ipad I can't get the app at all (at least without messing around with app store regions. Apple transitioned my entire account at my request). A VPN and the website gets me my BBC fix :)

I certainly hope they will, I've just bought a TV License for it.
I would imagine either the BBC will update it themselves or it will automatically be fixed for the iOS 10 release.

Also at the moment you don't need a TV licence for BBC iPlayer. You only need one for watching live TV, though that is set to change in the coming years.

You can watch live tv on BBC iPlayer so you would need a tv licence if you were to use that service.
