Does the iPlayer app on the iPhone 6 Plus allow the option "High Quality Downloads" as on the iPads or is it missing as on the iPhones up to now?

I'm in America, but love BBC. Can either of you tell me more about iPlayer? What sucks is it won't let me download since I have a USA account...

Just checked the app on my regular iPhone 6 and the option for "Higher Quality Downloads" is there.

Thanks

A VPN should let the BBC think you are in the UK.

The downloads on the iPlayer are only for 30 days.

If you have a mac you can get "Get iPlayer Automator" which downloads iPlayer programmes with no time restriction and by default puts them in your iTunes library.

I figured that, what I meant is iTunes itself. Only way to find the app is google it, then when it takes me to the iTunes Store, it says it's "not available" in the US Store.

A relation of mine gets in China with a VPN, so I think it can be done.

Do you have VPN?

I think you should be able to make the App store think you are in the UK too.

The app will stay in place even if you switch back to USA. When I go out of the country the iPlayer app won't let me watch programmes but I can still use the Downloads section.

Sadly, I tried that with the iTunes store. When I log in with my Apple ID, it states that my Apple ID is US based, so it won't allow me to download.
