Because the maximum file size on Youtube is tiny compared to the average iPlayer file.

It's not necessarily - watching 30 minutes of clips from YouTube uses just as much bandwidth as watching a single 30 minute iPlayer programme.

They've just done a complete overhaul of the iPlayer site, so looks like they must have forgotten to add back in the meta tag for the iPhone web clip icon.Has anyone noticed that, on 2.0 or iPhone 3G (not sure which is the problem), the home screen icon for iPlayer is just a plain old shot of the page and not the nice custom icon we had with 1.1.4?
EDIT: Just a thought - it could be the new iPlayer beta site that's the problem?

But did you add it before the iPlayer site overhaul, or after? I added mine after, and it is just a tiny snapshot of the page.Strange I have a Gen 1 iPhone with 2.0 and the icon is fine
