That's what happens when they use stock images.

Nothing new. FoxNews uses an iPhone with Cydia on it. ANd they make it look like they actually uses the ipHone.

This just continues to show that traditional media will continue to fail, and new media like blogs going to show that they are more reliable when it comes to reporting news.

    Why have the BBC failed?

It's still an iPhone in the picture, what's the problem?

It's clearly a Jailbroken iPhone as it has a wallpaper behind the icons.

Yes, it is a jailbroken iPhone...so?
That doesn't make the story about exploding iPhones false...doesn't mean that the exploding iPhones are all jailbroken...
it just means that the pciture they used is of a jailbroken iPhone...

To me it would only be a shocker if a jailbroken iPhone with Installer and Cydia prevented the phone from actually exploding. Cuz then that picture doesn't match the story. :)

    WTF?

I didn't even relate the jailbroken phone to the exploding story. It was just a bit of fun at the BBC using a jailbroken iPhone image in the article.

    That's kind of his question.

    Why does that matter?

If that was on apple.com then it would be funny. But why does it matter if the BBC uses that image?

And this was kind of my answer:

I'm sorry if I misled people with this thread.

Ok, I guess I just won't 'get it' then.

Oh well, I enjoy lots of humor that other people don't get, I certainly can't critisize you because I don't understand the joke.

Come on people, it's quite shocking that BBC, the largest Broadcaster in the UK would be using Jailbroken phones on it's site. Nicly pointed out ChaseUK. :D

And we know it's not promoting Jailbroken phones or makes the story any less real, but it's always shocking when you see that, and for that, stop bashing the OP for this.
