Mini 4 is significantly taller, or you can say longer, than the previous model, so be careful don't waste your money to buy old screen protectors

ya someone mentioned that somewhere.... so I knew to be looking for a new screen protector and new skin.... I final ordered armorshield (or something like that)

haven't been able to find anyone that is making or even plans to make any skins... I hate cases... don't like the bulk they add.... i loved having just a skin on my original mini (and on my iphones)....

i guess for now i'll have to just have a clear protector on the back and hope eventually maybe the skin makers will come through!!! (i specifically want slickwraps... but she sounded like they had zero interest in making one.... POO!)

nude Apple products are always such a glamorous sight, but oh so risky! Ballistic glass is bare minimum.

hmmm all Apple brand? I recently acquired a mini 3 for a test drive...wondering if I should keep it or return for the mini 4. I currently have Tech Armor ballistic glass which is practically invisible.

Yup, all Genuine Apple. They are honestly used less than a few days each. I wasn't intending on buying a 4 but of course did on impulse. Thought they would still work with the 4.. but alas :(

True, but it seems to me like they changed dimensions to simply force all us previous Mini owners to buy new cases.

and it's worked, bought the White smart case with Black apple logo on the back and i'm forced to buy a new smart cover. Oh well

Where did you purchase from? I was thinking I may have to come up with a custom color combination as the Apple Store has no White Smart Case options. Not even a white Smart Cover in the Apple Store App. Or a light grey/silver.

Oh, come on. If they hadn't made it thinner everyone would have whined about how it wasn't "Air-y" enough.

When you say "not compatible," do you just mean there'll be extra room on the top and bottom? If you've got a tempered glass screen protector, wouldn't it still cover the screen portion and home button without issue?

I have a tempered glass sp from old mini and it fits the new mini 4 there is a 1/8 gap at the top by the camera not covered since the home button and all the other 3 sides are perfect I think is not a big deal to use this temporary.

So an old Mini 2 or 3 screen protector will fit well enough temporarily? Not seeing my favorite brand available yet specifically for Mini 4, so thinking I might buy an old one really cheap until Mini 4 ones are ready.

According to the specs, the Mini 4 is some 3.2mm longer than previous Minis. Staff in my local Apple Store told me the old Smart Covers would fit as they are all the same. They are not.
I have tried an old Smart Cover, and it will do the job. It just leaves a little bit exposed at each end, but not much.
Apple store had Mini 4's in stock, but no Mini 4 Smart Covers.

You would think that they could master elementary product details like that, and manage to deliver stock of new items that are intended to be sold together at the same time.

I bought the mini4 today - love it. I wanted to buy a case, but only the cover was out on the shelf. Two sales people told me they weren't in stock yet. While still at the mall I tried to order the case online and saw that it was available at the store I just left. I went back to the store with this info and sure enough they were available in the back. The bad news is that the case for $59 only covers the back and you need to buy the cover for the front for an additional $35 to have a complete case. With tax that comes to ~ $100 for a silicone case compared to $69 for the mimi2/3 leather case.
Sort of a rip off, but it is a very well made case with the option of removing the cover easily during use.

I thought I could just use my old cover despite the slight size difference, but apple will have none of that! The magnet for the unlock is in a different place as well as the magnet for the binding on the left side. If you try to fold the cover to prop it up the cover falls off. ordered a new one.
