There is currently a known issue where you wont be able to sign back into certain apps requiring iCloud. Apple TV, Music, Podcasts, Books etc

I had to sign out of iCloud to fix an Apple Pay issue and that’s how I stumbled upon it. After an hour or so with Apple on chat they had me create a new admin user to see if I could sign in (I could) then they told me it was a known issue and I could either wait or use the new profile (without signing out)

Hmm, curious.. the apps you’ve listed are those which have paid content. Maybe Apple should go back to focusing on good hardware and operating systems and stay out of the service-as-a-subscription nonsense.

Dramatic but I get your point. I think they can do both well; they just have to step it up. The last few years of software have been, at best, mediocre in quality.

I've signed out just fine before and singed back in. It was fine.

there is an issue with iCloud services today I am not able to sign in to my Apple TV and this is a fresh new install of Catalina so let's wait until Monday maybe they will fix it. I am also not able to re-add my previously added card to Apple Pay. Most services seem to be down.

Signing in and out through Preferences works fine. It’s connecting to the individual stores(signing in that way) that is the issue. Documents seems to be working as well.

yeah some services are working but today Apple Pay won't let me add my credit car that's already stored on file, it says try again later or retry. Apple TV, if I login, nothing happens, I remain not logged in

Would that be an actual Apple TV or the Mac app?

The Mac App

Gotcha, yea me too. Had me worried for a second that I’d get home and my Apple TV box would be out too. If you wouldn’t mind, try the PodCast app on Mac and see what it says...
Oh and for what it’s worth, that same Apple Pay issue is what started all of this for me as well...

Yea, exactly what happens for me. What‘s odd about it is if you create a new user profile, like they suggested, it will work just fine.

Just got to wait it out I suppose; no way I’m setting up a new user profile and moving all that stuff around. As it is I’ll already have to take care of music playlists and photo library...

Thats the funny part. I already had signed out to, on their suggestion, to fix the Apple Pay issue. I’m certainly not setting up a new profile just to use what should work on mine. I tested it, also at their suggestion, and I can get the offending apps to work but only until I sign out then it goes haywire.

Remember when Apple products didn’t need so much hand holding?

I'm sorry if I'm posting to a wrong forum but I had an intermittent issue with signing back to iCloud just now on Lion. Quite intuitively I launched the iCloud control panel and was greeted by the drop-down telling me to re-sign. After I signed out I was cut off trying to get back and my logging attempts were subsequently rejected. Before that I noticed that geo-location of my Mac was lost. I popped in there 5 min later and after ticking/unticking it detected the Mac following which I regained the ability to sign in to iCloud.
This is the second issue since early August when I thought they pulled the plug on older systems. iCloud system requirements still list Lion as a minimum for basic iCloud services.

@BF1M

Small update bro. I felt my MBP PRO was very laggy and slow, everything I do takes a few seconds to start even opening system preferences / security to enter my fingerprint and whatnot. So I formatted and installed Mojava again and guess what? Everything is working now including Apple Pay and AppleTV I am able to login just fine.

Yea, I assumed it would make it go away if a fresh install but not willing to do that. To be honest, I'm tired of doing that. Seems like lately that's always the answer; start over.

Apple collected data from my iMac; they told me it's been happening a lot and to expect a fix within a week. They also told me that same thing in February when books was broken in Mojave and they never fixed that. Catalina took care of it. So I'm not going to be waiting by the computer...

But don't you feel Catalina is laggy? Man on my same MBP that you see in my signature I feel like I just bought a new computer. Its performing way differently with the same apps that I had on Catalina. On Catalina, it feels like I am not working locally on the computer where everything happens instantly there is a lag in anything I do as if I was using the computer remotely via TeamViewer.

I've actually had no issues speed wise with Catalina. All of my issues have been apple service related; Apple Pay, iCloud etc.

Great!! That'll save you a day of formatting/restoring your data. I can't count how many times I've formatted the past week man and copying my large movies collection takes ages. Perhaps it's some app that I'm using that's not fully compatible with Catalina that's causing this lag but I can't be bothered anymore. I just want my laptop to work.

You know what made me format? When I checked the Apple Services Status page and it said everything is ok I figured it's my OS that's acting up.

So its not just me. I had to install Catalina despite not wanting to. I have a lot of home videos (mp4) that I was able to send to several TVs around the house but cant seem to do it now. I keep signing in but no matter how many times I do, I am not. Same problem trying to authorize my computer.

The issue is profile specific. Apple has been able to tell me that much. More and more people are reporting the same issue and its directly related to them splitting up iTunes.

As of today I’m still unable to connect to any of those apps.
