I find it very hard to believe that Apple is going to delay only one of the pro models. It makes no sense to me, so until they make that announcement tomorrow I’m going to assume that the pro models will release the same day.

I think it only becomes problematic when people are genuinely wanting the 6.1 but miss out because Joe impatient bloggs couldn't wait 30 days for the actual phone they wanted.

I'm undecided. I have an X for work and XS Max as personal phone. I love the Max for its battery life and screen size but I feel like sometimes it's too big and uncomfortable so I find myself picking up the X more. So maybe 6.1 will be a happy medium?

Needlessly buying Apple phones you have no plans to keep and know you will be returning them no matter what is wrong. I will say it once again for you. It is wrong. It is wasteful and cost Apple money which, in the long term ends up affecting all of us. Buying a phone and then during the course of the 14 days you find out it isn’t going to work for you, is far different than what the OP and the female member I spoke of do. If you can’t see buying the former is wrong and wasteful, then I don’t know what to say.

It makes perfect sense if they have retool for that size screen. Or if production has to ramp up. My guess is you will not see the 6.7 until November as planned.

At this point when every leaker all has the same info that the two 6.1's will release in October and the 5.4 and 6.7 is releasing late November, you can pretty much take that to the bank.

Same thought on retooling for 6.7 and smaller variance screen.

Current rumors show the Pro Max having a 47% larger camera sensor and 6x optical zoom (65mm telephoto lens instead of the 52mm) over the standard size. No way in hell I would compromise on camera, it's the whole reason I upgrade each year.

Buying something you don’t really want, because you don’t have the self-discipline to wait 30 days or less for the product you do want, is a red flag. It shows a person who doesn’t have self-control and allows emotionally driven impulse to be the impetus for the purchase of the item that said person didn’t want to begin with.

Buying strawberries knowing you don’t like them or are allergic to them, because blueberries weren’t available, is illogical and down right foolish. And yet, that is what the OP suggested he was going to do and here you are using the same kind of thought process.

Buying a product you know you will return no matter what, is wrong, even though you have the money for the initial purchase. You did it with the watches and here you are about to do the same with the phones. I doubt you would appreciate customers doing that to you, if you were in charge of a business.

Then they shouldn't have the policy, and should have restock fees for phones that aren't defective or an Apple error to discourage it. No one is breaking any rules.

So it’s the manufacturers fault that people, example above, buy a phone with the intent to return it, not to test it. They know from the get go they won’t keep it. Hilarious, the entitlement is stunning.
They are expecting returns for sure, from you and me who MAY return something as it doesn’t work for us. That’s a difference.

I can't how the return trick will work anyhow. You have to wait until at most 14 days before the Max preorder date, and so many things could backfire.

1. All the regular pros could be backordered deep past when you would be able to order a Max.
2. When you go to order the Max, it could be backordered, so you would have to return the regular Pro or have to keep it, and then have no phone until the Max comes.

I don’t think Apple have much say in it as in many countries a ‘returns policy’ is a legal requirement. People who buy something to use for a couple of weeks with no intention of keeping it sure aren’t breaking any rules. They are like that person in the office that eats 3/4 of a packet of biscuits though and then leaves 4 for the remaining 15 colleagues.

So how many will go with the 6.1 Pro simply because it comes out a week from Friday vs waiting for the 6.7 knowing it’s late Novembe? I want the 6.7 but damn that extra month wait lol.

I wasn’t aware Apple had announced dates yet.

In any event, if those are the dates, then I’d wait. I‘m not going to compromise on the features/quality of phone I use every hour of every day and get one I don’t really want just because I can get that one I don’t really want a few weeks earlier. Makes zero sense to me.

For someone that’s on the fence, I could definitely see a delay being part of the deciding factor, but for those of us that know what we want? A few weeks/month/etc won’t make a difference.

I have a spare iphone 11, and think that size is great (6.1) so I am assuming the 6.1 pro will be the exact size. I just dont like a big phone, fitting in the picket, sore hands, and apple makes HEAVY phones...

A corporate policy meant for purchases is not to be mistaken with a free giveaway. It’s meant for customers who want to buy and keep the product, not those who have no intention to actually make a purchase without a return.

But you’re correct, Apple should add fees for its non-customers.

I agree with you guys. But I’m also tired of waiting. I’m hoping we don’t have to wait till November for the pro model.

I hope one day Apple will end this waiting game. If they are doing this intentionally it's working for them. People waits outside Apple store in cold in one single line begging to take their money or crying online to take their pre-orders first.
