I have a late 2010 iMac 27 that I constantly get the beach ball. I'm not running anything too tough? I have a large photo library and a large music library but that's it. It has 8gb of ram but even since new it's seemed sluggish and was getting the beach ball. Any advice?

Post an EtreCheck report of your system and we can look for obvious problem. Google EtreCheck, download it and run the app. Then copy and paste the full report into your reply to this message.

Yes, EtreCheck is always a good idea to find out if the problem is software related.

Could also be that your HDD is dying soon. Sometimes they slow down before it happens. Or do you have an SSD?
