But by that train of thought the iTunes store should also beach ball. I've never had a problem browsing the iTunes music or App store. The Mac App Store is the only thing that causes my new MBA to beach ball.

I can't confirm this but I suspect th App Store is rendering the page in the main thread, whereas the iTunes store probably uses a background thread to keep the application responsive while stuff renders. Although I could be wrong as this is the first NO-NO you learn when writing software. And it's easy to implement.

Got my new MBA yesterday and having the same problem with the Mac App Store, and only the Mac App Store.. Good to know its not only me. Other than this, this computer is a speedy one.

it works for me.

Here’s how to fix things:

Quit the Mac App Store with Command + Option + Q
Open Keychain Access from Applications > Utilities
Go to Keychain Access > Preferences > Certificates
Set ‘Certificate Revocation List (CRL)’ to ‘Off’
Quit Keychain Access
Relaunch the Mac App Store and you should be set

Beachballs in the App Store have nothing to do with your machine - they have everything to do with the dynamic nature of the app store (everything is updated over the 'net on the fly) and your internet connection.

^^^^THIS^^^^

I never have seen the "beach ball" inti. I went to the Mac App Store. Even when rendering some 3D AutoCad drawings I never see the beach ball.

Got to be the site.
