If you have an Apple TV you should get Beamer.
It's basically VLC for AirPlay. Drop any movie file, and it sends it to the Apple TV.
Does multi-channel sound, handles 3d Blu Ray rips great.
Buying now for $15 gets you 1.7.7 and a free upgrade to 2.0 when they release it soon (they say), which will have playlists, among other new features that I haven't bothered to read up on because Playlists are the one thing I've felt it's lacked.
