Beatles on iTunes has rumbled on for such a long time now. Do people not realise you can buy the records in the shop for probably less than they'll cost on iTunes and rip them yourselves? Plus, you get to choose your encoding and level of DRM. i.e. none :)

LOL, yes, I know I will not be buying anything on iTunes Beatle wise unless they include some exclusive tracks you cannot find anywhere or that I don't have, which is probably going to be some new interview or commentary by Paul or Ringo about the songs. Releasing on iTunes will more than likely mean new CD releases in store...hopefully...which I will then buy and as you say rip myself at my own bit rate.

How much would you pay for a remastered version of [playlistId=52046&i=52044]The End[/playlistId] (iTunes Store link)? It's a 4-second track of Ringo talking!

I hope they include something more valuable than that!

But it is always that way. If you said in 1965 "No one will care about most of today's music in 40 years" you'd have been right. Today we only care about maybe 0.5% of the music from that year. Like today most of it was junk.

Speaking of that, I see that the top hits of the Dave Clark 5 are now available on iTunes. They've been conspicuously missing, even from CD, all these years.

Did you look for them Over and Over? :D ;)

Here is the [playlistId=275399017]iTunes Store link[/playlistId] for anyone who is interested. The album notes say: "The Dave Clark Five's raucous, beat-driven pop was the only rival to the Beatles' nascent British Invasion." I guess the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, The Who, and other such groups don't count.

Augggh - a spelling error! I'm sure the song that the iTunes Store shows as [playlistId=275399017&i=275399283]Try To Hard[/playlistId] is supposed to be Try Too Hard, right?

Before this, their songs could only be found in Bits and Pieces.

I think their statement is true of the very early Beatles period. Before the groups you mention I think we saw the "silly" British bands, like Herman's Hermits and Freddy and the Dreamers.

Let's hope so.
