Beats by Dre...white vs. black.

Hey guys,

I'ma headphone freak, mainly because I'ma DJ and usually like to have the latest "hot" headphones that I see all the other DJs using and right now those are the Beats by Dre. I know, I'm such a follower. Anyway, I'm going to Best Buy today to pick up a pair and wondered if I should get the black or the white ones. I like both and can't decide. What do you guys think?

If you were really cool., you'd buy a pair of each and do some surgery to have your left earbud be black and your right one white. Of course, if you're gay, reverse the colors. 😀

I'd say buy whichever one is cheaper (or if they're the same price, go with white) and send them in to www.colorwarepc.com

Get them custom painted and you'll be very unique 🙂

If you have the extra money, get custom. IMO, the white ones are nicer.

Wow, those are awesome. I didn't know anything about them. I may get those later when they're out for a while and I hear what people have to say about them.

Well he clearly didn't, did he? Since those ones only come in white and he was asking about the studio ones which come in white or black.

No, they are not considered to be 'good' headphones - just marketed well. Which studio Sony's do you have and what are falling apart about them? The MDR-V6's are still considered to be one of the best sets for the money, they are really a phenomenal value.

thanks, i have the mdr-7506; let's see...the outer lining all ripped, the foam is gone, the left hinge bent. i had these ~8 years! will be on lookout for the mdr-v6 thanks.

Actually the 7506 is the semi-premium version of the V6 and also still available (at a slight premium). If you can live with the bent hinge, replacement pads are readily available and cheap. http://www.amazon.com/211566803-Son...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1263255166&sr=8-1

It's the most common thing to go wrong with those phones, and what I suspected your major issue was. 🙂

There we go. Heard them at CES, they still sound like crap IMO.
