The new Beats charging cables added to Apple's online store on Tuesday can also be purchased at Apple's physical stores in many countries starting today.

The cables are available in a variety of colors and lengths, with USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A, and USB-C to Lightning options. All of the cables have a Beats logo, along with a woven design that increases durability and helps to prevent tangles. In the U.S., prices range from $18.99 to $34.99 for one to two cables.

Notably, this is Apple's first own USB-C to USB-A cable, which could be popular for CarPlay.

Overall, there is nothing extraordinary about these cables, and many cheaper alternatives that are functionally equivalent are available on Amazon.

Beats has shared another ad for the cables on its YouTube channel.

Apple acquired Beats in 2014, and the popular headphone brand has recently pushed into a few other product categories, including iPhone cases and charging cables. Apple also re-released a Beats Pill portable speaker last year.

This is so unnecessary and so overpriced. You can get an Amazon Basics USB-A to USB-C cable on Woot for $2.99. It’s not woven, but you can replace it 5 times before spending the same on one of these, and still have a dollar left.

And wow, I just realized they’re charging $19 for an 8 inch cable. Pathetic.

Edit: I underestimated how many people are willing to buy a $19 charging cable. To each their own. I’m sure it’s a good cable. Just a horrible value.

Yes. But.... they're so pretty. (hovers over the buy button) ;)

These are stunning! Tim sure wasn't kidding when he said the pipeline has never been stronger. These are clearly the best, most powerful, and most stunningly designed Beats cables that Apple has ever released. And Apple didn't stop there. By making these cables with a knitted outer wrap, the cables are more resistant to wear and tear, extending their lifetime. These truly are pro-level cables! Apple thinks you're gonna love them!

The question now is: how can Apple keep up with this break-neck pace of innovation?

Hmm, I wonder where all these cables are made. China? Vietnam? Probably not USA.

Unless I'm staring at these cables repeatedly, I'm good with a quality Amazon cable or using the cables that came with my Apple products.

Amazon basics cables look and feel like trash. There has to be something in between.

There isn’t such a thing as “quality Amazon cable”.
This has been my experience as well. I bought like 5 of them, 2 werent working out of the box (I didnt find out until months later because I put them away) the other 2 starting disconnecting/connecting randomly all the time, only one work as intended.

When it comes to thunderbolt, I only buy Apple
When it comes to lightning, I only buy Apple.
When it comes to USBC, I only get high quality highly reviewed well specced cables (or use the ones Apple includes in the boxes)

For $2.99 per cable, that represents quality and value to me.

I've been using Amazon Basics cables for years and they've outlasted more expensive brands. They may not work well or last for everyone but they do for me and that's what's important.
Exactly, and even if the quality wasn’t as good, it’s very hard to believe I’d go through 6 of those cables before a Beats cable frays.

Speaking of which, every wired beats product I’ve owned has been very poor quality. It’s been a while granted, but anytime I had a pair of wired earbuds, they would fray so quickly. And they weren’t cheap either.

Amazon basics electronics are extremely low quality in my experience. Who really wants to carry backup cables everywhere?

I just bought one. USB A to USB C. I got the ultra short one to replace one I got on Amazon that seems to have trouble being recognized by Carplay 100% of the time and hoping an OEM cable will solve that problem.

I could take a dump on a plate and serve it to you for just $2.99, which would certainly be a value compared to a lot of places you could go to lunch. But the quality would be lacking. No different from those Amazon cables. The quality isn’t there.
