Apple's Beats brand today announced a new collaboration with Japanese designers Wacko Maria for limited-edition Beats Flex earphones featuring a leopard-print design with a dual-color cable.

Beats Flex are the entry-level in-ear earphones from Beats that debuted in 2020 as an evolution of the previous BeatsX models. While the Beats Flex connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to your devices, the individual earbuds are connected by a Flex-Form cable with inline modules for housing battery and control hardware.

The earphones include Apple's W1 chip for seamless setup and switching across Apple devices, multiple ear tip sizes, magnetic earbuds that secure the buds around your neck when not in use and support Auto-Play/Pause, Find My support, up to 12 hours of battery life, and Fast Fuel charging via USB-C that delivers up to 90 minutes of listening time in just 10 minutes.

As with the regular Beats Flex available in Beats Black, Yuzu Yellow, Flame Blue, and Smoke Gray, the Wacko Maria Leopard Beats Flex will be priced at $70 in the U.S. and will be available starting December 2 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Retailers carrying the limited-edition Beats Flex include Wacko Maria, END Clothing, and SSENSE, as well as boutiques INVINCIBLE in Shanghai and SOULGOODS in Beijing.

Okay, so I like leopard print as much as (hmm, probably more than) the next guy, but... there’s hardly any of it on these - a little dab on the controllers, nothing on the earphones themselves, and the cables are variously black or orange.

The box has lots of leopard print, but who in the hell carries the box around with them?

Why did they raise prices from $49 to $70?

Apple today increased the price of its Beats Flex headphones from $49.99 to $69.99, a pricing shift that may be related to supply chain constraints that have raised the costs of components across the industry.

I'm a huge fan of Apple and their products, but... the Beats Flex headphones have been the most disappointing headphones I've ever owned.

The worst issue is the material of the cable, which transmits sound every time you move that you hear in your headphones. And not just a little, either.

Also the buttons weren't great. I almost always had to fiddle around with them to get them to turn on or pair.

Sound quality is about what you could expect for a pair of cheap bluetooth headphones.

I gave up after about two months of trying to love them.

Would not recommend them to anyone.

(I think I may still have PTSD from my disappointment with them lol)

Leopard pattern? Wow! It’s so innovative. Fits well for girlfriends of friends of Dr.Dre 🤦‍♂️

That leopard print looks really cheap.

I got similar Sony headphones with two pill shaped contraptions on the cables. Makes you look like Steve Urkel.

Just wish Apple would give us a wireless charging case for all there in ear headphones

We can't have nice icons, because skeuomorphism is evil, but than this!
Apple is still too “less is more” in all the wrong places too often still, but when it comes to seeking revenue for shareholder growth, their marketing and fashion dept. lives by “a little is not enough.”

The worst issue is the material of the cable, which transmits sound every time you move that you hear in your headphones. And not just a little, either.

As is the 1/8 inch headphone jack evil. These do use the lightning port for the cable, right? If so then what for the MacBook and newer iPad crowd? Leopard print dongle?
