I hope beats keep something with over the ear loops. Very good to keep things in my ears.
How could they have no spatial audio. Doesn’t that work on basically all headphones?Call out the matte finish as a gripe before even mentioning no spatial audio? And push it to the bottom of the article?
I want them because no fast pairing/switching between my 5 devices shared by my family. THANK YOU. I can pair these to my iPhone for a work meeting and not get switched randomly to my kids Baby Shark mid sentence.
isn't sleeping with bluetooth RF all night after night dangerous?
Garbage. I owned them for 2wks and passed them off to an ex GF whom likes them. Their punchier in bass vs the AirPods Pro … BUT:The Jabra Elite 75T are the de facto champs right now for budget "they just work" wireless earbuds. If these Beats Studio Buds fix the atrocious fitment problems of the Airpods Pro, they've got a winner on their hands. I'm skeptical as Apple does not have a good history of understanding what makes for good audio, whether it be earphones or speakers, but they do have excellent command of ease-of-use.
Yeah I thought so too but then I compared the color of the beats sticker and the earbuds themselves - the sticker is much closer to red than the buds. Who knows, i guess i'll go check them out some day. That’s a problem of imperfect white balance in the Macrumors photos. If you look at the last photo in this article, they look pretty red (instead of the magenta in the other two Macrumors images). That happens when you take product photos in front of a background with a non-neutral colour (the warm wood here). The camera’s automatic white balance tries to balance the warm wood by adding a slight blueish ‘correction’ that then turns the red of the Beats buds magenta-ish. The last image gets the white balance closer to accurate likely due to some significant part the frame being made up by black (dark grey) objects (the camera’s smarts are probably trained to assume that something close enough to black is likely to actually be a neutral black).
It doesn't work. It still pops up on my various iCloud devices throughout the house while I'm working from home. You can't disable it from certain devices. Then the 5 year old or 3 year old taps it, and bam, Baby Shark.
I think it must be the head tracking spatial audio it doesn’t support. How could they have no spatial audio. Doesn’t that work on basically all headphones?
They aren't for everyone, but they would be great for my mom. I like my AirPods Pro and have great luck with automatic switching (I guess not everyone does) and it's really nice to just lay the case on my charging pad and walk away.Differences in Price of Entry does NOT equal better value:
1. No H1/W1 chip (yes I’ve said this in this thread in 2 other posts thus far- don’t care it’s a MAJOR point),
2. $150 true wireless earbuds that have all the AirPods Pro has BUT
- the above.
3. $49/69 Beats Flex DOES have H1/W1 chip.
4. No wireless charging.
What the hell is the reasoning here Apple? Beats team?!
- See what I mean price of entry does NOT equal better value?!
Exactly. This will be perfect for Android users who, let us not forget, are in the majority in most of the world. Just because the product isn’t for us fan boys doesn’t make it a terrible product.Christ you all are insufferable about the H1 ********. I actually think many are just regurgitating it by rote as if Apple could just start naming arbitrary components of equipment with Proper Apple Branding Fashion and then omit them on budget models such that independent of function, people would avoid it like the plague, and spend more.
For $150 with USB-C, the compact design, ANC, spatial audio for videos, these will be ****ing fantastic. Anker’s have QC issues and really overdo the Treble, it feels very artificial, more so than even Apple frequency response.
It may even be the first B*ats product I would own as it looks designed without the deliberate intention of being conspicuous to passerby’s.
I mean wow this place is insular sometimes. I’m glad Apple is giving people options. A few years ago I may not have had the money for AirPods Pro’s, and would have loved these for workouts.
Totally agree with you. Apple and Beats have different products at different price points with different features for a reason. So people can pick and choose which features are most important to them and invest accordingly.Christ you all are insufferable about the H1 ********. If not having W1/H1 is a deal breaker, then don't buy them. But I think lots of people who are attracted by the price and design of the buds won't have issues with not being able to "seamlessly" switch between devices.
I have the Airpods Pro and they definitely don't seamlessly switch between my Apple devices.
I’ve never used any Beats products, but on listening to my parter’s APP I was surprised at the lack of bass on them - they’re very mid-end ‘clean’ sounding and they sound much more like they’re built to listen to the human voice.
So I’m guessing with their signature bass heavy sound, Beats caters to the market for people like me who are listening to electronic or rap music etc.
Got to admit, it does seem like a product more aimed at Android though with USB-C charging and no Hx chip.
Price seems great too. The new Sony buds at $100 more are meant to have amazing NR - but you pay for it.
as been my go to for all physical activity based listening.I hope the PowerBeats Pro is not discontinued. It would be nice if they updated them with noise cancellation.
