I want them because no fast pairing/switching between my 5 devices shared by my family. THANK YOU. I can pair these to my iPhone for a work meeting and not get switched randomly to my kids Baby Shark mid sentence.

ROFLMAO!

I’d love to see that happen in a business Zoom meeting and boom Baby Shark audio pipes in, you start cursing, boom back to the business Zoom meeting. You have a good point- these are not targeted to the typical entrenched Apple ecocsystem user.

If these sound better across all music genre’s and better on Voice quality than:
Samsungs Buds Live (fake ANC)
Samsung Buds Pro (poor voice quality on calls)
Jabra Elite 75t

Then it’ll sell well.

The Jabra Elite 75T are the de facto champs right now for budget "they just work" wireless earbuds. If these Beats Studio Buds fix the atrocious fitment problems of the Airpods Pro, they've got a winner on their hands. I'm skeptical as Apple does not have a good history of understanding what makes for good audio, whether it be earphones or speakers, but they do have excellent command of ease-of-use.

isn't sleeping with bluetooth RF all night after night dangerous?

Please lookup Bluetooth RF … all versions does not permeat through 1cm of flesh.

You’ll have MORE issue with radio frequencies if you’re close to any Satellite TV dishes of 6‘ or larger in size close to you, or similar units. Every time I read posts like this I just cringe … need to research a LOT more devices and frequencies vs focusing on Bluetooth. Heck Wi-Fi is stronger than Bluetooth.

the choice Of USB-C charging here is incredibly eye raising for me. Fingers crossed the next AirPods/AirPods Pro’s also ditch lightning. Would leave the iPhone and entry level iPad as the remaining holdouts if I’m correct. Long have I dreamed of a standard…

Garbage. I owned them for 2wks and passed them off to an ex GF whom likes them. Their punchier in bass vs the AirPods Pro … BUT:

1. Major issue = Master and Slave technology - you MUST use the right-bud if you go single bud use, you cannot use the left independently and in 2019 when those debuted is stupid.
2. Claimed battery life is false in real world use.
3. Their nice design, I don’t mind real ‘in-ear’ headphones - but these, like the 85t’s are SUPER in the ear design like Ron Jeremy going buck wild on your ear canal ! No thanks!

Jabra’s great for their office call quality in other models or UC voice compatibility - but simply getting a USB-A/USB-C UC adapter using the standard Elite 75t’s doesn’t work as well as buying the dedicated combo. No thanks. Great design great colour options but I prefer my ears to remain Ron Jeremy in-ear virgins for life.

- And I used to own the Elite Sports for 2yrs.

That’s a problem of imperfect white balance in the Macrumors photos. If you look at the last photo in this article, they look pretty red (instead of the magenta in the other two Macrumors images). That happens when you take product photos in front of a background with a non-neutral colour (the warm wood here). The camera’s automatic white balance tries to balance the warm wood by adding a slight blueish ‘correction’ that then turns the red of the Beats buds magenta-ish. The last image gets the white balance closer to accurate likely due to some significant part the frame being made up by black (dark grey) objects (the camera’s smarts are probably trained to assume that something close enough to black is likely to actually be a neutral black).
Yeah I thought so too but then I compared the color of the beats sticker and the earbuds themselves - the sticker is much closer to red than the buds. Who knows, i guess i'll go check them out some day.

It doesn't work. It still pops up on my various iCloud devices throughout the house while I'm working from home. You can't disable it from certain devices. Then the 5 year old or 3 year old taps it, and bam, Baby Shark.

LMAO … now I really want to download and play this game lol.
- you much be a haunted by the audio of this game by now.

Sorry man - I know it’s frustrating you but this is the best laugh I’ve had all week - my life is lame from this pandemic so I’m enjoying your frustration. Sry again.

Differences in Price of Entry does NOT equal better value:

1. No H1/W1 chip (yes I’ve said this in this thread in 2 other posts thus far- don’t care it’s a MAJOR point),
2. $150 true wireless earbuds that have all the AirPods Pro has BUT
- the above.
3. $49/69 Beats Flex DOES have H1/W1 chip.
4. No wireless charging.

What the hell is the reasoning here Apple? Beats team?!
- See what I mean price of entry does NOT equal better value?!
They aren't for everyone, but they would be great for my mom. I like my AirPods Pro and have great luck with automatic switching (I guess not everyone does) and it's really nice to just lay the case on my charging pad and walk away.

My mom wouldn't care about any of those.

Christ you all are insufferable about the H1 ********. I actually think many are just regurgitating it by rote as if Apple could just start naming arbitrary components of equipment with Proper Apple Branding Fashion and then omit them on budget models such that independent of function, people would avoid it like the plague, and spend more.

For $150 with USB-C, the compact design, ANC, spatial audio for videos, these will be ****ing fantastic. Anker’s have QC issues and really overdo the Treble, it feels very artificial, more so than even Apple frequency response.

It may even be the first B*ats product I would own as it looks designed without the deliberate intention of being conspicuous to passerby’s.

I mean wow this place is insular sometimes. I’m glad Apple is giving people options. A few years ago I may not have had the money for AirPods Pro’s, and would have loved these for workouts.

Not for me, but makes sense. There are a lot of people I know who 1) Love Beats 2) Are in the “bad Apple” camp because it’s not cool to buy Apple products in their families and social circles.

The lack of H1/W1 won’t mean anything to these people, and the competitive price and Beats branding will be a winning combo.

Again, not to for me, but this will find a huge market.

Exactly. This will be perfect for Android users who, let us not forget, are in the majority in most of the world. Just because the product isn’t for us fan boys doesn’t make it a terrible product.

Totally agree with you. Apple and Beats have different products at different price points with different features for a reason. So people can pick and choose which features are most important to them and invest accordingly.

If not having W1/H1 is a deal breaker, then don't buy them. But I think lots of people who are attracted by the price and design of the buds won't have issues with not being able to "seamlessly" switch between devices.

I have the Airpods Pro and they definitely don't seamlessly switch between my Apple devices.

Exactly.

RE: seamless - same experience. it's still buggy. I'm not saying it's not worthwhile, but it's absolutely not a deal killer for me, even for $500 headphones.

It builds up to be a promising product, but then it gets out and turned out to be a major letdown.

  1. No H1 chip inside (why? Even $50 Beats Flex can have W1)
  2. Hence no iCloud syncing nor audio switching nor audio sharing on iOS
  3. ANC seems to be inferior compared to AirPods Pro
  4. No wireless charging case
  5. No head movement tracking = no Spatial Audio (because of #1)

I’ve never used any Beats products, but on listening to my parter’s APP I was surprised at the lack of bass on them - they’re very mid-end ‘clean’ sounding and they sound much more like they’re built to listen to the human voice.

So I’m guessing with their signature bass heavy sound, Beats caters to the market for people like me who are listening to electronic or rap music etc.

Got to admit, it does seem like a product more aimed at Android though with USB-C charging and no Hx chip.

Price seems great too. The new Sony buds at $100 more are meant to have amazing NR - but you pay for it.

While it may be true, there was no problem of pairing any H1/W1 headphones with non iOS devices? It feels like a half-baked solution, it may use some parts of H1 chip, but modified so it can also support Android side of Find My? A cheap way to subdue Apple elements in this product. But they forget Beats owned by Apple, and this move is a major letdown for iOS users, yet won't change any Android users perception toward Beats.

I was literally cleaning my credit card ready to make a purchase until I saw the bit around having no W1 chip who thought that would be a good idea?

H
I hope the PowerBeats Pro is not discontinued. It would be nice if they updated them with noise cancellation.
as been my go to for all physical activity based listening.
The airpod pros hate my ears so much they fall out if I so much as smile the wrong way

The more I think about it, the more I will keep my Powerbeats (4th generation). If only because 1) I won't easily lose the earbuds and 2) one charge lasts me up to 15 hours.

Does anyone know if these would still announce your messages while wearing, like the AirPods and other beats? I know it doesn't have the W1 / H1, but so far no reviews address this specific feature (that I have seen), and tbh I don't know if it's that chip that makes it possible or not.
