If Beats are so crap why are mixers and djs using them? Surely song makers would know better? But some amazing tunes are being made by guys who use beats.

People over exaggerate when they make a overly simplistic comment like 'beats suck'. There are plenty of other headphones that sound much worse than Beats. Beats don't sound horrible. They are for me, a tad too bass heavy, missing a bit in the mid range and the highs are not as smooth as some other less inexpensive headphones. I think for the price, there are more accurate headphones. But to say they are complete garbage or worthless is not true. And engineers using them would make sense when you are making music that will more than likely be played on them.

Yea but it's not just engineers its also dance music and nightclub song makers who know their songs will be played in clubs who are using them and there are some cracking sound systems out there. Much better than a lot of people hi fi's. I just don't buy they're crap. Too many people making a lot of money turning out good tunes use them And you can't argue with the figures.

The reason for this is that cash drives everything. When you see a famous person wearing beats, other normal people want them. So Beats pays big name DJ's and producer to wear them. They give them money to wear them, even though they would never be the DJ's first choice. David Guetta is a huge sellout and has his own Beats line, the Mixrs, which he obviously wears to promote his product, which is apparently very successful. You see this a ton of times. If you've ever watched American Idol, you see the same thing. They wear Beats shirts, hats, and everyone uses pro's in the studio. A lot of people don't understand that just because some big name music artist does something, it doesn't mean its the best. I'm not blaming you, just explaining so you understand. Anyway, that's about it. Peace! :)

Again there are two distinct groups Audiophiles they want purest sound possible this is the group the music producers mixers fall under. they need the sound to be as perfect as possible. Beats are known for the heavy bass good for people that like artificial bass for Dub-step or Rap. So it really depends on where you fall it's personal taste. Myself I like bass but I like honest bass! best advice listen to a few headphones consider the music you listen too and base your headphones from that.. to me Beats are over priced junk but to somebody else they are the best headphones ever. I will also tell you check ebay and see how many used Beats products are for sale (mind blowing) ;)

I understand. I've done the audiofool voodoo before. Seen it for what it is and moved on :)

People are using them to make good music. Some are using them to make good money. Both are true :)

Use your own ears with your own gear and don't be made to believe you're somehow wrong if you don't agree with audiophiles.

Get a pair of Grado's. They look ****, but they absolutely destroy the beats in terms of everything else. But I guess if you're going for looks more than sound then getting the beats for a fashion statement might be your best bet. An expensively overpriced bet, but a good looking one.
