Ok, so if you don't like the Beats X, obviously this threads not for you. Airpod guys, I dont have any info for you either.

So as you know, there are two hard dates that were out there in the ether quoted from B&H Photo and Fry's electronics. Fry's quoted a ship date of Dec 8th, while B&HPhoto quoted a ship date of Dec 16th.

Well B&HPhoto recently overhauled their website for blackfriday and removed the quoted ship date to "Expected Availability: Not available". Everyone was like, ahh crap.

Well, I just got off of live chat with B&H Photo, and they just quoted me this:
Opening Question: i was about to preorder an item. (B&H # BEBEATSXBK MFR # MLYE2LL/A ) but I would like to know the expected availability.

Kenneth L: Hello, my name is Kenneth and I will be glad to assist you. Please give me a few moments to begin working on your inquiry.

Me: ok thanks

Kenneth L: We're expecting around the first week next month.

So looks like Fry's ship date was correct, or B&HPhoto will have them by next week ready to ship out.

Take this with a grain of salt of course, but this is giving me some good hope to have this on my head pretty soon.

Of course I'll take it like a grain of salt. I'm not believing anyone apart from Apple when it comes to AirPods and the BeatsX. There have been way too many rumours.

well they have to be getting their information from somewhere. I would like to hope they aren't changing their expected ship date from Dec to 16th to perhaps the first week of december because its "on a whim"

Im pessimistic too, but for some reason Im getting a glimmer of hope here.

What makes you think their information is from a reliable source. It could be just them guessing or estimating the date. I very much doubt they would have information from Apple when Apple themselves have not updated their site or made an official announcements. Third party retailers are notorious for putting made up dates and or giving inaccurate or incorrect information. I very much doubt a customer service employee for a third party retailer knows anymore then we do.

Third party vendors also get their information straight from apple. Lets not forget there is a lot of coordination to get these sold in the first place. Why wouldn't Apple want to maximize opportunity for profit by providing retailers reasonable time frames to sell their products. Especially if they are allowing pre-orders. B&H Photo is a pretty legit website. And as aforementioned, I woudn't hope they would change their date from mid december to the first of the week on a whim.

Also, there are german websites quoting the same date range:

Well all i know is the apple uk site says coming Autumn. Correct me if I'm wrong but winter officially starts the month of December, so does that mean we will see a release in the next couple of days??

Winter officially starts 21st of December so I'm REALLY hoping we get AirPods and BeatsX before then.

I'm not saying B&H Photo are not legitimate as I'm very familiar with them and know they are a reputable dealer. That doesn't mean they know any more then us. It also doesn't mean an online customer service person knows what they're talking about. I've seen many examples of customer service assistants before whether on the phone, online or in a bricks and mortar store saying one thing but the truth being something different. Either they're guessing, assuming or saying what the customer wants to hear. You give too much credence to what you have been told. If you choose to believe it then more power to you but I for one will air on the side of caution and wait until Apple gives the official line regards the release date.

Someone on Reddit who works at Best Buy posted a photo of a Beats booth that had "Beats X: Available Spring 2017" on a screen. The photo has since been removed. Here's the thread though:https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/5esc79/beatsx_launching_2017/
Hmm, I wonder if that was quoted for another place other than the US. It seems like that guy is from the US, but I wonder if that certain booth was touting a non-us date.

I say that because BeatsByDreSupport twitter profile tweeted 5 hours ago to a japanese guy asking for a release date on the beats X. They quoted him a 2017 date as well, but linked him to the japanese website.
I hope that they are quoting the 2017 date for non US places.

It just seems odd to me that target would make physical placeholders on their shelves for a product coming out in spring 2017. Or if a huge reputable dealer changed their date from December 16th for pre-orders to quoting the first week of december.

I want to believe in the latter here.

It's very strange to watch Apple struggling to get a product like this out within a reasonable time frame. Like, how could we still not have a date? I don't recall ever seeing something like this happen with Apple before.

Me neither. It's a complete joke and a slap in the face to everyone who bought the headphone jack-less iPhone (and paid the raised price) relying on apples promise that they'd only have to wait 30 days for the airpods. A complete farce.
