I tried to make some changes to Calendar on my iMac, and a message said that only the administrator was allowed to do so. I am the owner and only owner ever of this computer, so where do I go to make the necessary changes to become the system administrator.

I had same problem and finally realized that I had unchecked calendar from iCloud. To fix this, go to system preferences, select iCloud and make sure that Calendar is checked (this will give you permission rights). You should then be able to make additions, changes to the calendar.
