iPad Been a while since I used iPad - the widgets/stacks look a bit ugly no?

I set up a freshly formatted iPad and was surprised at the default home screen. The widgets and stacks take up a lot of space, not sure why there is a clock widget and then another clock app.

Just curious if most users here use the widgets or do they keep a more traditional layout?

Edit - I realize I can remove the widgets as pointed out in the response below, but curious if most people kept them on since it is the "default" iPad home screen?

You can resize widgets as well as remove the clock and other things you don’t want on the Home Screen.
