been away for awhile need help

i have a jb 3gs still on 3.1.3 n i would like to update to 4.0 or 4.1 which ever is best. n i been away from the jb game for a while so whats the easiest way to do this or is there a way to do this. my shsh is save with cydia

For 4.1:
If you need the unlock then Pwnage Tool is the only way...
if you only care for the jb then Limera1n or Greenpois0n...
