Been to an Apple Store recently?

    While walking around the local mall on Saturday (July 7th) I looked in the Apple Store there. Man, it was PACKED. Every single iPhone available to be examined (maybe six or eight of them?) had at least one person looking at it, many with two or three people.

    Based on that anecdotal tidbit, interest in the iPhone continues to be very intense.

    I've been to mine (Portland) several times since Jesus Friday, and it's always packed. There's sometimes a line for the iPhone table.

    What's amazing to me is that the Mac/iPod/Accessory business is still going at the same pace. You'd think the cost of iPhone would lead to the cannibalization of other Apple products, but apparently they're selling as many computers and iPod as ever. Crazy.

    You may not believe this story, but a dude here ended up buying a MacBook with his iPhone because he was here on vacation and didn't have his home computer to activate his iPhone with. How's that for an iPhone accessory?

    I walk by the one in Pasadena fairly often. I'd love to play with an iPhone (for the first time) but there is always a huge crowd around them and I'm too impatient to wait for something I won't be buying anytime soon anyway.

    I had the opposite experience...I stopped by the Stonestown store here in San Francisco on Monday the 1st and was surprised at how few people there were in the store. Yes, it was 10:30 in the morning, but still, it was just three days after the launch and I didn't expect to be able to just walk up to the table of iPhones and choose which one I wanted to play with.

    But on a weekend, yes, I'd expect it to be quite crowded.

    I've been to my local Apple store in Santa Clara a couple times since I bought my unit. Same experience--can't really get near the demo iPhones and lots of people looking at iPhone accessories. Good for Apple.

    I've been there a lot lately, and when I slapped my iPhone out onto the Mac Genius counter (to fix the crashing Safari browser), a young gentleman leaned over toward it like he was witnessing a rare diamond! I bought the Bang & Olufsen headset and a microphone (non-related). It's dangerous to go to the Apple Store!!

    My co-worker did that, but only because he was taken by Apple's magic spell. He saw that several of us at work had iPhones, and he just took the extra step and bought the MBP. Cool thing? He WAS a PC person. I initiated the applause to welcome him to the Apple side :D

    I was there just today and sweet jesus was it packed as hell and just for the iPhone.

    :apple:TV was getting no love :(

    i went to the shadyside store in pitt the day after release in the morning and walked right in to open iphone display and started messing around with them. 20mins later i walked up to the counter and bought an iphone in less then 5min. TAKE THAT crazy crowds of apple fans lol oh P.S. took 5min to activate also heh

    Yes, it is rather shocking that stores aren't as full at 10:30 am Monday morning. It's almost like people are busy doing something else.

    Yep, the SLC Apple Store has been more busyer (bad grammar of course) than ever!!!

    So many people crowded around the iPhone booths that I'm lucky to have my own.
