Just saw Built to Spill, Monotonix, Frightened Rabbit, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Micachu in NYC @ the Siren Music Festival...

Great show. I wasn't really familiar with the smaller acts before seeing them, but Monotonix puts on an insane live show that consists of the entire band in the audience at all times, often crowdsurfing while playing instruments, and the other acts were all entertaining. Built to Spill was who I went to see, however, and they didn't disappoint.. I'm not the biggest fan of their recorded stuff, but I heard they were an incredible live band and they backed it up.

Just came home from Sonisphere. Great concert but rules sucked. No own bottles inside the area  Lamb Of God and Machine Head were amazing and their moshpits were huge. Metallica was OK though Lars failed all the time (no doubles in Battery, own **** everywhere) and Kirk was quite absent-minded, but James and Gorilla saved the show!

Last night i saw Testament who were awsome but i was more shocked (in the good way) by the support acts Mindless Torture,Warbringer,Onslaught. It was a great night.

I saw Clint Mansell and The Sonus Quartet perform some of Clint's film scores on Monday night.

It was ***** brilliant!
:)

Saw Queensryche last night and they were epic. The original rhythm guitarist wasnt there though some other younger guy played rhythm and there was a backup singer/keyboard/guitarist too. Jeff Tate had hes daughter come up and sing and she great aswell.

just ordered my ticket for the blazed and confused tour.. snoop dogg, slightly stoopid, and stephen marley :D

Just seen Incubus the other night. Awesome show, worth every penny. There still on tour so they could be comming to a venue near you! Check for tour date via Googleing "Incubus Tour Dates 2009"

Saw Eddie Vedder in June and sort of met him. (came up to a bunch of fans at the side of the venue before the show to say hi)

I'm also seeing the whole band (pearl jam duh) at the Spectrum in Philly this October.

I saw Ratatat recently...it was sooo much fun. Their stuff is even better live. I saw them outside during the afternoon, so the lightshow was kinda pointless...but it gave kind of a nice effect...and we got the idea :p

The hell? He tours? That must have been amazing! I'm not familiar with his other work, but the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack is breathtaking.

Nope. No tour. This was the only public performance, he played in Gent last year at a film composer award do.

He did stuff from:
requiem for a dream
the fountain
the wrestler
pi
moon

I hope he does tour with it. I'd see it as many times as I could.

The music for Moon is on par with RFAD.

Just saw a free M. Ward concert in central park, which was incredible. Then, on our way back home we stopped by the apple store, AND HAPPENED TO SEE JAY Z AND DIDDY DRIVING BY IN A JEEP WITH NO DOORS. Coolest thing ever, we ran up to them at the red light and I got my M. Ward cd signed not only by M. Ward, but also Jay Z. Diddy couldn't since he was driving.

Judas Priest!

Saw the Priest here in Nashville a couple weeks ago, awesome show, those guys still Rock!!!

What good is it without pics right?

Flaming Lips and Doves last week.
Seeing Phoenix tonight.

If there's one band you have to see live at some stage, it's definitely the Flaming Lips...

You must be Australian?

Saw Jet on the weekend.. They were pretty good. Just not my sort of music.

Last two big gigs - Lupe Fiasco and NERD.. Both shows were amazing. Lupe and the band, go off live.

To those interested… Clint used to be in a band called Pop Will Eat itself (PWEI) that was shortly featured on Trent Reznor's Nothing label. I was reading a ton of interviews on him just before RFAD debuted. His work on that score really influenced my band and his paralleled interest in ReBirth kept me trusting software based solutions to me as a live software based beat programmer/sound manipulator. Be sure to check out Bentley Rhythm Ace another project formed out of PWEI (sans Mansell).

Why waste your money on something that doesn't sound as good as the album( dating myself). Most concerts are nothing more than the musicians playing the their songs loud. Plus, my opinion is that they tour just to do something with their lives. They (the musicians) should try working like the rest of us. I'll never go to another concert.

Interesting perspective on live music, odd, but interesting...
