Para :). Also going to school for Elementary Education.

The building has wifi, but for some reason there is not a router in the teachers lounge. It's right in the middle of the school, and the walls are cinder block. I can't pick up any wifi signals, and I can barely get a 4G signal which can't load anything I want to look at. They just finished remodeling the building, so I doubt ther will be a lot of technology updates anytime soon.

Wow, if that room is so bad that you cant even pick up wifi signal from nearby routers then any cellular signal will suck too.
In the middle of the building with cinder blocks and not even wifi signal penetration? Sounds like there isn't much hope for that certain room unless you request them to install a wifi router inside.

I've been with T-Mobile since February after 20+ yrs with AT&T.

My service works great in So Cal. Using 6s Plus, from the sounds of things I'm glad I didn't bother with the 7.

You must live closer towards LA. T-Mo is absolute garbage between Pomona and the Inland Empire. I used it for 2 weeks and it was horrific. Drop calls, losing LTE/4G/3G Internet signal ENTIRELY, can't make in-door calls half the time, etc. I know I'm not crazy because everyone I know who uses T-Mo agrees with my assessment. I'll gladly pay AT&T.

Check out Cricket Wireless. It's basically pre-paid no contract AT&T. It's very cost effective, especially if you need multiple lines.

Yup. Some schools are just poorly designed like that for technology. My high school was a notorious cell phone hole. This was just before smartphones and before students had easy wifi access, so we just dealt with it.

I'd be interested to know if turning off VoLTE really does make a different for building penetration! I've been with T-Mobile for two weeks now. I get decent signal at home where I have wifi anyway, but it's hit or miss at work. I work at a school, so I get decent service in exterior rooms like my classroom but terrible coverage in the teacher's lounge which is an interior room of cinder blocks. It wouldn't be so bad if they had a router in there where I could connect to the wifi!

Other than that I live about 45 minutes from Kansas City, so I get a decent two bars around where I live and about four bars when I venture into the metro. The slight downgrade in signal quality is a fair enough trade off to save some money compared to Verizon.

I don't know if turning off VoLTE makes a difference in regards to inside building reception - but I know for a fact that CALL QUALITY is definitely improved. At home I use WiFi calling but I still get 2-3 bars in my home area and I have no real issues.

While Verizon might be a little better than T-Mobile, it doesn't justify me paying an extra $90 per month on my bill compared to what I'm paying now with TMo.

My 7 Plus has the worst signal of any phone I've had on T-Mobile. It's very stressful. I can't wait until the next iPhone comes out (Unless it's another Intel).

My 6s has had none of the issues with data, reception, etc.

Bah.

I hear you with Verizon! I was on my parents' Verizon plan until a few weeks ago when my fiancé and I combined lines. He was already on T-Mobile, and the current pricing for two lines is hard to beat, especially for unlimited data. Though I will admit that Verizon's building penetration is much better! I rarely had issues until I switched.
