Hi guys,

In my Hard disc folder i've got a file called "beerResponse.log" it's a LogFile which is 0KB in size and when i open it in Console it says the file is empty.

I've erased the file but it's come back a week later again 0k and an empty log. I'm assuming it's either from Adobe's or M$ auto updating programmes which run in the background each week, but the filename is what's causing me some concern as it looks like it's developed an alcohol problem  and the fact it's not on any of my other Macs.

At the time it says it was created I would have had Mail, Entourage, Safari, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, Powerpoint and Textwrangler running on 10.4.5.

Does anyone know what's creating the file, or what it is, i'm sure it's nothing sinister but i just wold like to check?

Cheers

Perhaps its from a widget?

Aside from the obvious Guiness Widget witch would have nothing to do with your quandary, perhaps a Dashboard Widget designer made a widget that creates the beerResponce.log (programmers drink also) as a homage to Guiness. Just and idea.

Mmm beer!

I own M$ Office for OSX and Adobe products, yet have no beer log.

I also have opted not to see hiden files.
[EDIT] Looked for log on Startup HD, with no files hidden- I didn't find the beerResponce.log.

beerResponse.log 11-19-06

I too have the file. Just noticed it tonight and deleted it. I too am new, I should say just returned, to the Mac. Last Apple was an Apple II that I put the rom chip in to make it a plus, yes it dates me.

Anyway did use spotlight and noted that the only other references to beer on the system were related to Home Design Studio from Punch software. Doubt that the log is from them as their references were all in their folders and related to design issues.

Was this ever resolved? Last that I saw on it was some time ago and left open from what I could tell.

Thanks and now you know what I do, very little.
