Yeah, ant.honey, but I think they might come with the SL discs? At least one user has reported that. Besides, I have an SL disc, so I could always do that, which I have no problems with. Clean installs is a not infrequent part of my mac usage...

yeah, thefizzle..., there are more everytime I look! When I checked a second time there was only ONE 2011 15-inch with matte, now there are four models! Thanks for the info! I didn't find the 500GB-7200 rpm, which is preferable.

Wow, no joke when you said that they sell out quick! When I posted the four links all of them were in stock! Now it seems both the 2.2 and the 2.3 with the 500GB 7200RPM drive have sold out. I guess you have to act really quickly when they pop up on the store.

if you have the old SL disc you won't likely be able to install SL on the MBP. you will have to find someone whose early 2011 come with SL and borrow his restore disc that come with the box. i afraid that this ain't gonna be easy if you have a retail version of SL

It better be one of the discs that was included with the system, as normal SL disc doesn't work on the newer systems, as it was too early of a version (I think the early 11's came with 10.6.6 or 10.6.7 installed) and the retail discs only went as high as 10.6.3 so they won't work with the early or the late. Although some have reported success in contacting Apple and purchasing a new copy of the OEM include backup discs for the early 11's. Good luck.
