Last night I tried to restore from backup (my son deleted some files on accident), so I pop the disk in go to utilities and then restore from time machine. Once it's done putting everything back on it tell me to restart the computer. When the iMac comes on it's stuck on the apple logo.

Ive tried to hold down option and select the drive that didn't help.

How do I get the disk to boot up so I can try to reinstall it again?

When you say "pop the disk in" what do you mean?

You can try booting to the DVD holding C instead, but if it doesn't work either, make sure the disc hasn't gotten scratched or the optical drive damaged somehow.

Just a few questions about the backup...Is this backup on an external hard drive or a Time Capsule? And if on a Time Capsule, did you restore using WiFi or Ethernet (recommended)? Furthermore, if the Time Capsule has backups of multiple computers, are you sure you chose the right one to restore from?
