I have tried Win 11 Pro on my MBP8,3 late 2011 17" but could not get sound and other bits to work. I reverted back to High Sierra thinking of selling it on facebook or ebay. Its clean and really good nick so quiet reluctant to sell it. Then I chanced upon a facebook post about Linux. After reading that post, seems Fedora based distros work better than Debian based. From what I can gather, even Linux won't make it fully functional like macOS. Is that right? Are there any distros that can make my MBP work like native macOS?

the only time i tried linux on a Mac partition it looked and behaved too much like windows - so i wiped it and never went there again.
and (obviously) only macOS will make your MBPro work like a Mac
