(RESOLVED)

I'd really appreciate some advice on this strange issue i'm running into. Just got a samsung evo 840 SSD (250GB) for my not so young late 2008 MBP unibody (2.4ghz/6gbram).

I made a Lion usb boot disk using lion diskmaker, booted into it, selected english as my language, (mouse click does not work, so i press enter). On the next screen, where I can select from a list of things (restore from time machine, install, get help, etc). i use the up and down arrows to get to 'install', and press enter. no go. i can't click anything on the menubar, and though the red x button changes when i hover over it, no effect when i click it.

I made an Snow Leopard boot disk using disk utility this time, and the situation is exactly the same. I reset the PRAM, and no change.

I feel that i've tried quite a few options! What could be the deal! I'd appreciate any advice at all! Thanks ~

edit: I should mention that I've tested this with both hard drives, with 2 different boot making strategies, and with 2 different versions of OS X. This is why I am stumped.

UPDATE: RESOLVED. BUILT IN TRACKPAD'S CLICK DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. EXTERNAL USB MOUSE DID THE TRICK.
