Begin learning dojo?

Hey all, I'm very new to any sort of web development and I need to learn the dojo toolkit. I don't know javascript, so I think I'm a little behind here. I've looked up a handful of tutorials but I'm feeling sorta bogged down. Anyone have any advice on learning javascript and/or dojo for a newbie web dev?

Practice, practice, practice.

When searching out tutorials and articles try to make sure they are only a couple years old as people have been finding better practices over the years. Here's two links I have for good programming techniques that I just have off-hand,
