Not sure if you can do that with iMovie, I know it can be done with Final Cut Pro, and possibly Final Cut Express.

S sigamy macrumors 65816 Jul 14, 2005 #7 cfx has a $1.50 (yep, buck and a half) plugin for iMovie called Picture in clip (static). This will do what you want. Go to their effects section, then matting / composing. http://www.imovieplugins.com/fxhome.html Check out their other plugins. Very cool and very, very affordable.
