Am I the only one hesitating on this one because the watch can't be set in landscape orientation for nightstand mode? I prefer that, and I'm sad that it's the one thing keeping be from buying this charger.

That’s referring only to charging. Nightstand mode which the other poster referenced is triggered in a watch when it’s placed horizontally.
Ok, doesn’t nightstand mode timeout after 15 seconds anyway? Which makes it useless?
Don’t understand the confusion concerning this. Nightstand mode works in both horizontal and vertical orientation.
Yes but all I have to do it touch my nightstand and it lights up. Great in the middle of the night when I want to know the time without something glowing all night.
Black if you get black lightning usb c cables
White if you stay with Apple official white cables
I generally pick white or silver accessories when it comes about Apple products
White charger, silver aluminum stand/hub because Apple provides white cables
If it was black cables, i will go on black color charger/stand
Both are good color choices either way

nice to know. I’ve always used horizontal as I use the official Apple Watxh puck. Looks like they added portrait a few years ago in a point release. At launch it was horizontal only.
You don't need to use any other charging cables with this one...just one included cord out the back to the power outlet. Everything else is integrated.
Mine came in today from Apple. I love it! Nice and weighty, doesn’t move when I pull my iPhone 12 mini off. Just high quality all around.
I agree and since nightstand only stays on for a few seconds, I don’t get the point of that either. Both my iPhone and watch are charging, so touch one and you have the time. I do wish nightstand would stay on all night.
If I touch my phone screen, it lights up the room and disturbs my husband. I can't reach out and touch my watch screen from bed because I can't see it in the dark to know where it is. However, simply touching my nightstand is enough to light up nightstand mode on my watch if I want to see the time in the middle of the night, and doesn't light up the room.
Mine won't be here until Feb 3rd, so...for those of you who already have them, do you love it? Like it? Returned it? What's everyone's experience so far?
