IMHO, there needs to be a class action case organized for these Apple installed Belkin protectors. It's clearly a bait and switch. I don't think most people think a warranty replacement will take weeks and in many cases months to receive when they purchase these screen protectors in Apple stores. If you search online there are tons of complaints about how long it takes to get replacements and how requests fall on deaf ears with Belkin support and some people never even receive their replacements.
Once a screen protector is cracked, it is no longer protective, and the longer you go without replacing it, the greater the chance that the iPhone's screen will crack because of the diminished protection.
Why should a replacement take weeks (I'm currently into my 4th week of waiting for a replacement) or months, with claims of being back-ordered, when you can just walk into an Apple Store and there's plenty of stock for them to sell to you? Apple needs to hold Belkin accountable to either provide replacements in a more timely manner or they should change the policy that warranty replacements can just be done via in store stock. The current situation is not feasible and is clearly poor management at best or a scam at worst.
