Belkin is offering half-off everything on Belkin.com for today, Friday, only. No minimum purchase required, just use coupon code "FB50" when you check out. However, it seems that Belkin's website is getting crushed under the weight of the deal and is responding only sporadically.

Belkin sells a wide variety of accessories, from wireless routers to iPad stands and bluetooth keyboards -- and iPad kitchen accessories.

Hat tip to Gizmodo.

Not like Belkin has interesting products anymore. They used to be the first place to look for the best Mac accessories. Especially when it came to firewire.

I remember the first time I saw their Mac min firewire/USB hub designed to fit under the Mac mini.

I kept waiting for them to update it to firewire 800 and it never came.

Edit: it's working fine now.

From their Facebook page...

"Wow, we've had about 100,000 + people on the site. We're working on getting the site back up & promotion will run through Sep 30."

re: routers

Agreed! I've installed a lot of wireless routers over the years since I do on-site service work as a side business, and I've had plenty of problems with Belkin's routers. Lots of weirdness ranging from incompatibilities with various wireless cards/adapters to issues where they freeze up until power-cycled (like you mention). Sometimes they do release firmware updates that resolve some of the initial problems -- but the quality control sure is suspect. IMHO, you can do much better with a product actually made by a *networking* company, like Cisco/Linksys.

Thanks for the tip. I never had any luck with Belkin routers. Always have to unplug/plug them back in every couple days.

Is this US only as with every sale, or worldwide? Cant get on the site at all at the mo!

Edit: Yup...US only, what a damn surprise...cant expect much though from a crappy company like Belkin I guess!

Still haven't been able to order. I've made it to the checkout screen, got my discount applied, but can't get any further than that.

I don't like any of their cases but I love their MicroCharge + ChargeSync kit. I've had the kit for several years now and would love another. The cord is heavy duty, and doesn't break/fray at the end and stop working like all the surprisingly crappy stock Apple charge/sync cords.
