I've had it on my last 2 phones, and I'm curious if it's really necessary anymore?

the 39.99 one I'm talking about..

Does it degrade the screen quality at all?

Thanks!!

Friend was in tears last week

I’ve broke my screen, look, and sure enough the classic spiderweb
She took it to a Verizon store and it was a broken glass screen protector
11 bucks later she was on her way all smiles.

What did it, phone in the purse, along with keys, candies, cosmetics, and when I was asked to hold it I swear concrete blocks.

She loves her screen protector

I never spend more than $10 on screen protectors and that's for at least a 3 pack. They're all the same. They offer scratch protection, not drop protection, therefore the expensive ones are just snake oils.

I picked up a iPhone 11 Belkin Anti Glare protector from Apple store ahead of delivery.
It's cheaper than a $30 protector but I use it in the sun so anti glare is more important.

And yes, the glass does get scratched up so I am hoping this will mitigate it.

What a ridiculous reply. Do better..
I buy Spigen protectors for about $8. They are super easy to install and if you break it cheap to replace. I would definitely use one and they don’t degrade screen quality. Hope this helps.

What I think he meant to say is that your decision to purchase a screen protector should be based on how you use your phone. And how prone you’d be to scratching it. At least I would hope that’s what he meant.

That’s a piece of plastic film so it’s even easier to scratch.

I swear by the glass ones they fit in apple store directly with the fancy machine. The only ones I will ever use. Had no issues with them whatsoever and been using them for many iPhones now. Worth every penny

For the ones they fit in the Apple store directly, do you know if they offer it in anti glare?

Me too! And it’s so therapeutic watching them put it on.. if I buy it before hand will they install it for me at the Apple store? I’ve always bought it there but they sell out quickly.

Afraid not, when they’ve run out before they just sold me the pre boxed ones and I done it myself at home. That is also ultra fun it’s a great product and easy to use

Anker tempered glass is very high quality. 2 pack for less than $10. I have some of the lesser names that was like 3 for less than $10 and there is a difference in quality. The width is not as wide and the glass is not as smooth. Belkin is seriously overpriced and not better than anker's. Some tempered glass kinda dull your colors. The higher quality ones doesn't. So buy the more expensive ones, worth the premium. But not belkin premium. Just because Belkin is apple preferred doesn't mean they are worth 4-8x more than other premium brands on amazon.

I have usually been a big fan of glass screen protectors. I rarely drop my phone - but it has happened but I've been lucky with the Presidio Grip line of cases - I think I'm going to go without one this year. Why? Two reasons, one I'm on the iUP program and two, I have AppleCare+ with the service. So instead of getting say a $10 screen protector or a higher one priced at $35, I'll just take the replacement charge of $29.
