The SKU is 4995253. The item number is F8N744TTC01. Just picked up one myself.

That's too bad.
Once you use the secure version there is no going back.

I love the way it holds the Smart Cover in place.

I bought the iPad 2 version but the corner cracked.
Hoping Best buy or Amazon will start to carry it.

Isn't there something/some sort of magnetic strip we could attach to the back of the normal snap shield that the magnets on the smart cover can stick to in the back?

Heres a few pics of mines, not the best quality...

Just walked into my Best Buy and they had about 15 of them on the rack so I exchanged the iPad 2 one I bought for a iPad 3rd gen one.

Pdawg, the SKU is the seven digit numerical code (Bestbuy SKU format) that precedes the product description on the receipt from your purchase. The code you provided is a Belkin identifier.

Providing SKU or maybe even receipt scan?

Found it. 4995253.

Never mind just saw the other post :).

Perfect and thank you relaying this info.

I found no snap shield secure units stocked (the model with magnets on back), however this model for 3rd generation was stocked in large quantities, clear only.

I had previously tried the model designed for IPad 2 and was displeased with the force necessary to attach the case....these are definitely better fitting, though I am very surprised that Bestbuy stocked these so far in advance of the availability estimates of Amazon and direct from Belkin.

Thanks again OP and woods1110

Does this cover up the sim card tray on the 4G iPad? It looks like the best back protector out there.

I bought one yesturday

Got my 3rd gen shield on my iPad. Muuuch better fit than the iPad 2 version.

On a side note it was funny hearing the BB guy explaining to somebody that "honestly" it was a bad idea to get the 4g iPad since you can't share the connection.. so they would really be better off buying a separate 4g hotspot instead.

I heard some users said after a while, the color of Belkin changed due to heat. Not sure it's the best quality to protect the back...

Son of a b*tch! This is exactly what I've been looking for but they don't ship to Canada. That probably means they don't have them in our Best Buy's either :(

It has a much better grip than the normal back case. The texture is similar to silicone, but not sticky. So far so good.

Only clear (frosted) at my location today.

The grip is my biggest issue right now. Even with the Targus slim case it's an issue because the microfiber suede is slippery so when holding it open and folded back I still have grip issues.

I've bought new products at Best Buy before when they weren't on the website yet. I remember buying a Logitech web cam that I wasn't expecting to be out yet, but I found it on the shelves. If I remember right, it wasn't even on sale on the Logitech site yet.

I decided against buying this after looking at it and realizing it does not secure the smart cover to the device
