I have a serious hatred for cheap, permanently kinked cables. No way could I ever have that thing in my home.

At first I scoffed at the “affordable” in the headline. And then I realized that some wireless charging pads that just charge one device at once are twice as expensive than this, so I guess this is a pretty good deal....

Not clear. There are definitely devices on Amazon that claim to do the same thing (phone, watch, airpods simultaneously) at around $25..$30.
Maybe they charge slower? Maybe the wiring is dodgy and will die after six months?

But I'd say the onus is on Belkin to prove that they deserve the (substantially higher) cost.
And let me remind everyone that Belkin sell the infamous WeMo smart plugs, the single crappiest HomeKit device that money can buy! The plug of choice when what you're after is a device that will randomly disconnect from your network once a week every week.
So don't tell me that you're paying that 3x+ higher cost to pay for fine Belkin quality...

I have a similar 3 in one charger from Amazon, presumably from some sweatshop in china, that ive had for about a year, and I haven't had a days problem with it. I wonder where the 'quality' issue comes into play?

when it sets your house on fire.

Come on...
A simple search on Amazon with keyword "3 in 1 wireless charger apple" already prove my point.

Yes, you are VERY right, but MacRumours has affiliate links and they want you to buy so they get more commission.

"... at $110, Belkin's 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is more affordable than most other 3-in-1 wireless chargers on the market.."

There are Much more less expensive, no-name 3-in-1 wireless chargers on Amazon and on eBay that costs ~$20-50.
Read the reviews on many of them carefully, though, as some may be fake.

I did waffle over using "affordable" because I figured I'd get comments like this, but for a brand name 3-in-1 wireless charger that works well and comes from a reliable company with reliable safety ratings, this is comparatively affordable. There are some other options on Amazon, yes, but many of those aren't fully wireless
With all due respect, the only thing this product brings is an all-in-one design.

The article stated and I quote, "made from a plastic material. It's not the best quality charger out there because of the all-plastic build". So, not sure why anyone would even begin to quip me about "quality charger".

On the other hand, the same company makes a wireless charger with better build material for $30.
Get 2 of them to charge the phone + the airpods, and we are still only at $60 which we are left with $50 budget to get any watch charger. Anything lower than $50 would mean a better deal than this product and there are plenty.
Yes, it is not the prettiest set up, but does it really worth that much of premium is up for debate to each individual.
In addition, that is just limiting our scope to Belkin chargers.
Anker offers an AirPower like charging pad for 2 devices at $50. (Note, I am not affiliated with any of the vendors. Just proving a point.)

None of these are 3-in-1 chargers. This review is directed at people who might be looking at a 3-in-1 charging option to save desk space, to have an all-in-one charging spot, or to have a multi-device charger that only uses one cable. There are always other non 3-in-1 options that are much cheaper, of course, but I think it makes more sense to compare this charger to other 3-in-1 chargers rather than single device chargers. Single device chargers (or those that just charge iPhone/AirPods) or standard cables are always on option.

I personally hate cables so I have a 3-in-1 charger on my desk because it takes up less plug space and doesn't result in a million cables on my desk.

So it is a rigged selection by placing all the limits to ensure the choice is justified.

Did I point out there are other 3-in-1 chargers that are actually "affordable"? Check.
Did I point out other Belkin wireless chargers because of "quality"? Check.
Did I point out other wireless charger that can charge multiple device? Check.

I can't help with your personal preference, so I will leave it at that.
I am entitled to my preference too. To me, that price is irrational.

I agree, I'm not paying that much for a product like this. However, Belkin believes they can sell quite a few of these at that price point otherwise they wouldn't have priced it that way. They'll find out one way or the other.

Honestly I'm not sure what I WOULD pay for something like this. Certainly more than the price of simply 3 separate cables and 3 separate charge bricks. $60? $70? Perhaps. But it must have an incorporated Watch charger. There are too many 3-in-1s that are actually just 2-in-1s, you supply the watch puck. No thanks to those.

$110 seems high Ive seen knockoffs for $20ish on Amazon which is what Ive always used without issues.

To be fair i'd rather have something from a brand like Belkin that's going sit next to my head every night charging 3 devices at once than a £20 Chinese knock off.

I have a Chinese nock off variant and I can see a point in going for a better quality unit. It didn't come with a power adapter at all so I'm not worried about that. But it keeps stopping and starting the watch charging so it lights up all the time which is super annoying. I don't really like the design on the Belkin though, and not the price tag eiter. I kind of liked the logitech one but it has a similar price tag, half would be enough!

An anal retentive's dream and nightmare at the same time. I still charge everything bar the watch using cables but as far as wireless goes I'd need a bigger *thing* to not have to constantly adjust where and how I put devices down to charge - and those that fit into that category are just unjustifiably expensive even from my PoV.
